Year 10 work experience
Inspiring the next generation.
We were delighted to recently welcome two Year 10 students, Cian Davis and Harry Allen, to Champion Groundworks for a week of work experience.
The placement gave Cian and Harry the opportunity to learn more about the groundworks and construction industry, meet members of our team and gain valuable insight into the different roles involved in delivering our projects.
Throughout the week, they experienced the day-to-day working environment at Champion and developed a greater understanding of the teamwork, planning and skills that contribute to the successful delivery of our work.
Supporting young people as they begin to consider their future careers is incredibly important to us. Work experience provides a valuable introduction to the workplace and allows students to explore the wide variety of opportunities available within construction—from practical site-based roles to careers in engineering, commercial management, health and safety, administration and many other areas.
We are extremely proud that several members of our team, including members of our leadership team, first joined Champion for work experience while they were in Year 10 before going on to build successful careers with us. We therefore know first-hand the lasting impact these hands-on opportunities can have and how they can help shape a young person’s future.
Cian and Harry approached the week with enthusiasm, asked plenty of questions and made a great impression on everyone they met.
As always, our team were incredibly welcoming and supportive. A very big thank you to everyone who dedicated their time to ensuring Cian and Harry had an enjoyable and valuable experience from start to finish.
We hope they enjoyed their time with Team Champion and left with useful experience, greater confidence and a better understanding of the construction industry. We wish them every success with the rest of their studies and whatever they choose to pursue in the future.
